Loanee Dastan Satpayev was prevented from playing for Burnley against Charlton by Chelsea - the same club who own Pompey loanee Ryan Kavuma-McQueen
Chelsea banned Pompey’s Championship rivals Burnley from including young forward Dastan Satpayev in their match-day squad for Tuesday night’s game against Charlton.
Clarets boss Nicky Hayen has confirmed the 18-year-old was prevented from playing by his parent club following a period on the sidelines with an injury.
A £3.4m signing from Kazakhstan champions Kairat FC in the summer, Satpayev was forced to sit out four of the Turf Moor club’s Championship fixtures prior to the international break because of a hamstring problem.
That led to him returning to Chelsea’s Cobham training base so that the Premier League giants could manage his recovery.
Satpayev re-joined his Burnley team-mates last week to feature as a second-half substitute in his loan club’s 4-0 victory at Watford on Saturday.
Yet, the Clarets were instructed not to call upon the attacker for their midweek home fixture against the Addicks, forcing Hayen to leave the teenager out of his match-day plans.

‘Chelsea didn't allow him to play because he had a big injury, and they were managing the load together with our medical team, but they told us that he couldn't play today.’
According to Hayen, that was part of the season-long loan arrangement that took the player to the north west in August.
So it begs the question: Are Pompey under the same restrictions when it comes to Ryan Kavuma-McQueen?
The 17-year-old winger moved to Fratton Park on loan on August 14 and has already made a huge impression.
The England under-18 international has featured eight times for John Mousinho’s side, registering one goal and an assist, as he’s quickly established himself as a firm favourite among the PO4 faithful.
Five of those appearances have come in the way of starts, with the exciting talent also putting his body on the line as he continues to play with his hand in a cast after breaking a finger in two places during Pompey’s home defeat to Derby on September 1.
Kavuma-McQueen opted not to have surgery on the injury so he could continue playing for the Blues, earning him more praise.
That suggests there was no interference from Chelsea.
However, it’s fair to say the young forward’s substitution at half-time during Pompey’s trip to Southampton Sunday caught many by surprise.
Explaining that decision, Mousinho said: ‘(It was) just a tactical one. Ryan's done absolutely brilliantly for us.
‘I just thought at times there was a different opportunity, particularly when the space would open up near to the box for Segs (Adrian Segecic).
‘No issue whatsoever, just one of those decisions. Ryan's a very, very exciting young talent.’
Kavuma-McQueen featured three times for England’s under-18s during the international break, taking the number of competitive games he played this season to 11.
Pompey fans will be hoping a 12th appearance comes against Sheffield United tonight at Fratton Park, with the Blues looking to pick up their first win since beating Cardiff on September 5.
