Today, 2K and Visual Concepts have announced the release date for Season 2 of NBA 2K27. It is this Friday, October 16 and there is a new trailer below to boot. Patch 2.0 will highlight this Season 2 release along with the debut of GOAT Builds and Crew Divisions. NBA 2K27 launched the first week of September and time has been allotted for the developers at Visual Concepts to iron some things out. The two athletes who are the focus of Season 2 are Indiana Pacers player Tyrese Haliburton and Indiana Fever player Caitlin Clark, who also is a cover athlete for this game.
New GOAT Builds for MyPLAYER Mode
GOAT Builds are inspired by NBA legends for MyPLAYER so you can tailor recreations of both past and present NBA legends. The important thing about these GOAT builds is that both the standard attribute and physical caps of the builder can be broken. For example, the Magic Johnson GOAT Build will allow a Point Guard with a height that exceeds 6'7". Signature Animations are also locked to maintain authenticity for the player, but Badgest, Cap Breakers and Takeovers can be customized.
There are a total of eight GOAT Builds available for Season 2. Players can unlock three more as part of the Season Rewards track. These are unlocked when reaching certain levels and will require time investment. The eight players date back as far as the 1990s. The unlockable players are spread more throughout history. Patch Update 2.0, The City, and More Updates
Gameplay is getting refined across shooting, passing, defense, steals, dribbling and more. The gameplay was rather impressive at launch, so hopefully this isn't being adjusted to what it was prior to this release. This patch also enables 25-year careers in MyCAREER Eras, along with more REP and Crew XP in Crew Divisions. There is a good bit and the patch notes can be read here.
Sunset Beach Coming Back
The vibes are on as Sunset Beach is returning to The City. This is remastered from NBA 2K17 as players will have the opportunity ten years later to play with the backdrop of a coast along with a towering volcano and a fish tank. American Express is also taking over The Theater to coincide with the NBA Tip-Off. Apparel will be eligible for 2X REP starting on November 7. Crew Divisions will be getting Double Crew XP towards rewards plus a +25% REP bonus for all Crew Division played. Difficulty has also been adjusted to match the REC for more accessible gameplay.
Five new community builds have been added in this Season. Players have the option to submit their builds to the Community page to be featured in later updates. Season Pro Pass will allow for 40 additional levels to be unlocked. This is a seasonal add-on pass that is available for individual purchase. These rewards are currently Halloween-themed.
