**Andoni Iraola has backed Bradley Barcola to build on his Champions League hat-trick in the 6-3 win over LASK.**
Barcola produced a standout display in Austria, with Iraola also pleased with the contribution of Florian Wirtz after [both players had recently faced questions](https://hayters.com/iraola-defends-liverpool-duo-following-criticism-in-defeat-to-man-city/) over their attacking output.
“You were asking me yesterday about him and Florian getting numbers and I think both of them today played really, really well,” Iraola said.
“Even apart from the hat-trick I think he was a threat always one v one, threatening in behind.
“Florian helped us a lot to control the game, finding the pockets, and I’m happy for both of them.”
Barcola’s treble was the headline contribution, and Iraola admitted the winger had looked sharp even before the game.
“To score a hat-trick in the Champions League is always very difficult,” he said.
“I think he looked, even training yesterday, like he had a good feeling.
“He was very lively and sometimes you feel these things.
“You never know how they are going to play the next day but it’s not a big surprise. He was feeling in a good place before the game.”
Iraola believes the performance can now give both Barcola and Wirtz a significant confidence boost.
“I think for their confidence for sure it’s very good,” he added.
“They feel we trust them a lot but to enjoy it a little bit, playing in the Champions League away, it’s going to be very good.”
