Kristaps Porzingis gives reassuring update on his condition after absence

Kristaps Porzingis has shared a statement on social media regarding his mysterious health condition, which baffled even his team, the Golden State Warriors.

After being away from the team for the preseason, the Latvian center shared a message, stating that he is improving and reveals frustration about the mysteriousness of the illness.

His full message:

Hello people, I'm working with doctors and experts to figure out how to be fully back to good health asap. Honestly, I'm getting better and better. I just have to stay patient, and I believe I'll be feeling great again soon.

It has definitely been frustrating dealing with some health stuff that you can't exactly pinpoint, on top of injuries throughout my career, so it has added up for sure, but we will get through it.

Health is wealth. Thank you for all the support.

I appreciate all the internet doctors trying to diagnose and help, but I'm in the best hands. So everyone can relax now and I don’t have hiv or aids.

The Warriors also shared a statement saying that the center is out indefinitely, but will be around the team.

Porzingis spent time away from the team

Despite the statement, uncertainty remains for the Golden State Warriors about Kristaps Porzingis' mysterious illness.

The Latvian star has yet to join the Dubs' lineup, as he skipped Golden State's Media Day and training camp. He hasn't played yet in one of the Warriors' preseason games.

While Porzingis' recent appearance at the Warriors' facility is a promising sign, his progress and playing availability are yet to be known with just a week left before the upcoming 2026-27 season.

Warriors fans can only hope Porzingis' return to the Bay Area will be followed by more positive and detailed updates rather than questions.
