Accordingly, the Lakers waived Cole Swider to accommodate Young's arrival.
Jahmir Young joins LA Lakers
Jahmir Young will join the Los Angeles Lakers on a prove-it deal, as the team will enter its preseason finale on Friday against the Denver Nuggets.
Young spent the past NBA season with the Miami Heat. While he was limited in the Heat with just 14 appearances, he was an absolute standout in the team's G League affiliate.
Playing for Sioux Falls Skyforce, Young averaged 25.9 points and 8.5 assists per game, earning All-NBA G League Second Team honors.
Young began his NBA career in 2024 as an undrafted player from Maryland, where he played his first season with the Chicago Bulls.
