Stephen Curry shares new eye-opening take on LeBron James not joining Warriors

Stephen Curry offered a new perspective and respect for LeBron James despite the superstar not joining the Warriors.

Appearing on SiriusXM NBA Radio, Stephen Curry offered a new perspective on LeBron James' past free agency.

When asked whether he had any conversations with James about joining him in Golden State, Curry admitted there was no clear indication that the discussions gained serious momentum.

"I thought there was a conversation, and if there was ever some momentum, it would be known based on the profile LeBron has. If he picks up the phone and says, 'Hey, what's going on out there?' or vice versa, and I pick up the phone and say, 'Hey, what's on your mind?' that would put you in the conversation for a guy like that who's picking his landing spot," Curry stated.

"But as you know, the way he went about it, taking his time and being patient, and the surprise of Philly, he was going to run his own journey that way."

LeBron James snubs Steph Curry, Warriors by joining 76ers

The Golden State Warriors were one of the prime landing spots considered for LeBron James after the 41-year-old superstar left the Los Angeles Lakers as an unrestricted free agent.

The dream scenario of teaming up with Stephen Curry to win their fifth NBA title in a potential final run, as well as being close to his family in Los Angeles, were several key factors presented to James in possibly heading to the Bay Area.

Yet in the end, James opted to return to the Eastern Conference by signing a two-year deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, leaving many shocked by his decision.

Stephen Curry supports LeBron James' decision to join 76ers

In the end, Stephen Curry fully supports LeBron James' decision despite turning down the chance to play together in Golden State.

From being staunch rivals who met in the NBA Finals four consecutive times and becoming teammates in Team USA's gold medal run at the Paris Olympics, Curry has nothing but respect for James' plans.

"He deserves to be able to do that, and I'm, as a friend, an Olympic teammate, and all that, happy for him that he found somewhere he wants to be," Curry said.

"That's kind of how it's supposed to be."
