Rick Carlisle Calls In to JMV: Haliburton’s Return, DAZN, and a Night on the Dance Floor
Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle surprised JMV by calling in today after Indiana’s third preseason game in Oklahoma City.
Carlisle praised Tyrese Haliburton‘s first game back in the building where his significant injury occurred. “He went in there like a gladiator, and he was spectacular,” Carlisle said. He described Haliburton as aggressive and fearless, and noted that when Haliburton plays well, his teammates do too.
Carlisle also recalled meeting Haliburton for dinner the night he was traded from Sacramento and promising him the keys to the offense. Haliburton embraced the Indianapolis community from day one.
Center Ivica Zubac grabbed five offensive rebounds. Carlisle highlighted his hands, vision, passing, and screening, especially alongside Haliburton.
Carlisle used the call to promote the Pacers’ new TV partner, DAZN. He said the app is far more dependable than last year’s streaming option. The full-season package costs about $59 through Oct. 19, then roughly doubles.
Carlisle will miss Friday’s preseason finale against Milwaukee to attend daughter Abby’s Kappa Kappa Gamma parents formal at the University of Virginia. Assistant Lloyd Pierce will coach. Asked if he’d dance, Carlisle said, “Unfortunately for those that may be watching, probably yes.”
