Xabi Alonso has not been at Chelsea for long, but the 44-year-old could already be set to make history at the club.
Under Alonso, Chelsea have made a habit of scoring early goals, and it was no different in their 5-1 victory over Bournemouth last weekend. It took Jordan Henderson just two minutes to open the scoring for the Blues.
One minute later, Morgan Rogers also managed to get his name on the scoresheet. The attacking midfielder has been a quality addition to Chelsea’s starting XI this season.
With 32 games still left to play in the Premier League, Chelsea could be about to do something very special as Alonso watches on from the dugout.
Alex Scott could be available in January! If Chelsea sign him, what impact do you think he’ll make on the midfield?

Think he would be an excellent addition to the midfield. Again, he'll of a lot of .oney but that seems to be the current rate and for me, he's better than Anderson

Quality player. After missing out on a big move last summer, it’s only a matter of time before he leaves Bournemouth.
Dynamism, which I think we lack when Caicedo doesn’t play. Scott can go from box-to-box, but these are still crazy numbers I’m seeing for a potential deal.
Chelsea could set record for most goals scored inside first three minutes
As things stand, Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United currently hold the record for the highest number of goals scored in the first three minutes of games in a single Premier League season. As per Opta Analyst, they scored six of those back in the 2010/11 campaign.
This season, Chelsea have already scored four in just six games! They are starting games so quickly under Alonso that it would now be a surprise if they could not at least equal United’s record.
Clearly, goalscoring has not been an issue for them, which is not a shock when you have an attack consisting of Rogers, Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro. The only game they have blanked in was their 3-0 defeat to Brentford just before the international break, and Pedro was missing that night.
WhoScored has Pedro listed as their highest-rated player in the Premier League, and only Erling Haaland has scored more goals than the Brazilian, showing what kind of form he has been in. Rather, Chelsea’s problem has been at the other end of the pitch.
Alonso’s men have conceded far too many goals this season, although their defending last time out was much better. They conceded just once and almost kept a clean sheet.
Hopefully, Chelsea can now build on that and go a step further and actually keep a clean sheet. They take on Everton next, which will not be easy.
Pedro has never scored against Everton, but with the form he is in, maybe that will change this Saturday.
