State Farm Arena to get upgraded Wi-Fi in new tech partnership

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A new partnership is set to help the Atlanta Hawks and State Farm Arena offer a better fan and concertgoer experience, officials announced on Thursday.

Thanks to a multi-year collaboration with technology company Cisco, the arena will be updated with Wi-Fi 7, which gives fans better connectivity while making sure staff can still efficiently run ticketing and sales systems.

The arena will also gain the State Farm Arena Production Command Center, a place for live entertainment and production teams to plan out the fan experience. For the past several years, the Hawks and State Farm Arena have ranked near or at the top of the NBA in terms of game experience, according to surveys of season ticketholders.

“This partnership strengthens our foundational backbone to deliver exceptional experiences for fans, artists and guests,” Kim Rometo, the Hawks and State Farm Arena’s executive vice president and chief technology and innovations officer, said in a statement.

“Atlanta is one of the most innovative cities in the country, and the Hawks are constantly challenging what a modern sports and entertainment experience can look like,” Anne Ristau, head of global sponsorships at Cisco, added.
