The New York Knicks will waive center Drew Eubanks after the veteran big man suffered a torn pectoral muscle that is expected to sideline him for an extended period, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.
Eubanks was competing for one of New York's final roster spots during training camp, but the injury effectively ends that bid.
The 29-year-old had been fighting for a reserve center role alongside James Wiseman and Tony Bradley.
Eubanks entered camp with eight seasons of NBA experience after previous stops with the San Antonio Spurs, Portland Trail Blazers, Phoenix Suns, Utah Jazz, LA Clippers, and Sacramento Kings.
Across 426 career regular-season games, including 86 starts, the 6-foot-10 center has averaged 5.6 points and 4.3 rebounds in 15.1 minutes, while shooting 60.3% from the field.
Last season with Sacramento, Eubanks appeared in 42 games (11 starts) and averaged 5.2 points and 3.0 rebounds in 13.1 minutes.

Eubanks injury reshapes Knicks' final roster battle
According to Ian Begley of SNY, Wiseman had already put himself in a strong position to earn the Knicks' final roster spot even before Eubanks' injury.
New York has enough room below the second apron to keep one veteran currently in camp, making former No. 2 pick Wiseman an increasingly logical choice for the backup center role.
Veteran guard Bruce Brown has also impressed during training camp and preseason, but his situation is more complicated.
Begley reported that Brown has put himself in a good position to make the roster, though the Knicks would need to trade a player already under contract in order to create room for him.
