Martin Zubimendi remains on Real Madrid’s radar, and whenever the Spanish giants struggle in a match, reports emerge linking them with a possible move for the Arsenal midfielder. The interest is not new, as Madrid had been monitoring him before he left Real Sociedad.
Zubimendi was among the players considered by several clubs before he joined Arsenal, with Xabi Alonso reportedly keen to bring him into his squad. Real Madrid, however, did not make a decisive move, allowing the Gunners to win the race for his signature.
Real Madrid continue to monitor Zubimendi
Since arriving in north London, Zubimendi has established himself as an important player for Arsenal. The club recognise the value he brings to their midfield, particularly through his composure and ability to help control possession.
However, his situation has reportedly changed since the start of this season. Despite his standing in the squad, Zubimendi has not been available for selection as regularly as expected, with Mikel Arteta choosing other players for the role. That shift could create an opportunity for Madrid to revisit their interest.

Madrid see a possible answer to midfield concerns
Arteta still regards Zubimendi as a quality player, but the midfielder’s reduced involvement has prompted speculation about his future. After previously being described as an ever-present during Arsenal’s league-winning campaign, he now faces uncertainty over his opportunities.
According to Fichajes, a source says Real Madrid view Zubimendi as a potential solution to their current midfield problems. The Spanish club are therefore said to remain strongly interested in bringing him to the Bernabeu.
Madrid could step up their pursuit in the coming weeks as they look to strengthen the squad. Much will depend on whether the club decides to turn its reported interest into a concrete approach and whether Arsenal would be willing to consider losing a player they regard as important.
For now, Zubimendi remains an Arsenal player, and any move to Madrid is still speculative. His role under Arteta and Madrid’s next steps will determine whether the recurring transfer links develop into something more substantial.
