Manchester City 2-4 Paris Saint-Germain: Doué inspires champions as Haaland double cannot…

**Paris Saint-Germain produced a clinical attacking display to beat Manchester City 4-2 at the Etihad Stadium and maintain their perfect start to the UEFA Champions League league phase.**

PSG winger Désiré Doué opened the scoring before setting up Ousmane Dembélé less than two minutes later, with Vítinha adding a third before half-time. Manchester City striker Erling Haaland scored twice after the break, but Maghnes Akliouche’s fourth ended City’s comeback hopes.

PSG took the lead in the 13th minute when Doué drifted in from the left and drove a low finish beyond Manchester City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. The French side struck again just 99 seconds later, as Doué lifted a cross towards the back post for Dembélé to head home from close range.

The visitors continued to control the first half and nearly added another when Achraf Hakimi struck the post. Their third arrived in the 32nd minute, with PSG midfielder Warren Zaïre-Emery finding Vítinha, who curled a composed finish into the corner from just inside the area.

City came out with more intensity after the break and pulled one back in the 53rd minute. Manchester City winger Iliman Ndiaye, introduced at half-time for Jérémy Doku, delivered from the right and Haaland headed past Matvey Safonov.

City’s momentum was checked nine minutes later. Dembélé released Akliouche, whose long-range strike was initially touched by Donnarumma before spinning over the line to restore PSG’s three-goal advantage.

City continued to create chances, with Enzo Fernández and Haaland both hitting the woodwork. Haaland eventually scored his second in the 75th minute, finishing emphatically after Manchester City midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi picked him out inside the area.

Haaland then came close to completing his hat-trick, but Safonov denied him at the back post as City continued to push forward.

PSG had the chance to add a fifth in the final minutes when Manchester City defender Matheus Nunes brought down Nuno Mendes inside the area. Former City forward Ferran Torres took the penalty, but Donnarumma saved his effort before PSG closed out a 4-2 victory.
