The right-back was also said to have been on Bayern Munich’s radar. Nothing materialised in the end and it is likely to be the same story in January.
Bayern Munich won’t make bid for Malo Gusto in January
While Bayern are being linked with Gusto once again, German journalist Christian Falk says there is nothing in it. According to Falk, Bayern will not be making a bid for the 23-year-old in the winter transfer window.
On the Bayern Insider podcast, Falk was asked about the Gusto links. In response, he said: “Bayern have been interested in him before, but no, they’re not going to pay €90 million for him — the price quoted last summer. I think he’ll be cheaper this winter, but even then, Bayern won’t make a move at that price.”
Alex Scott could be available in January! If Chelsea sign him, what impact do you think he’ll make on the midfield?

Give Barco & Lavia opportunity to impress before throwing up funds for player you don't necessarily need.
Think he would be an excellent addition to the midfield. Again, he'll of a lot of .oney but that seems to be the current rate and for me, he's better than Anderson
Quality player. After missing out on a big move last summer, it’s only a matter of time before he leaves Bournemouth.
When it was mentioned that Gusto actually translates to “bad taste”, Falk then said: “A Bayern official gave me exactly that response when I asked whether there was any interest in Malo Gusto. He said, ‘No, it’s a bad taste.’ And perhaps they don’t want to make their taste any worse, so they’ll keep their hands off him for now.”
Gusto is not the only Chelsea star who has been linked to Bayern. In the past, Bayern have also shown interest in Josh Acheampong. However, he will not be going anywhere.
Chelsea view Acheampong as untouchable, while the young defender has been getting opportunities this season. He started in the Blues’ 5-1 win over Bournemouth last Saturday and will have no reason to push for a move if he keeps on playing.
Why Malo Gusto could still leave Chelsea
Whether Bayern come in for Gusto or not, a January exit still seems like a possibility. Xabi Alonso has several options in the right wing-back position right now, and they are all better going forward than Gusto.
Pedro Neto, Marco Palestra and Reece James can all play the role. Neto is a natural winger, so it is no surprise that he has offered much more there than Gusto.
Neto is creating a lot of chances from the right wing-back position. In fact, in the furthest forward zone on the right-hand side, he is producing more shot-creating actions per 90 minutes than any other player in the Premier League.
Defensively, you would also have to put James above Gusto. Because of that and how well Neto has adapted to the right wing-back position, Chelsea should consider offers for Gusto in the new year.
