Arsenal have reportedly been monitoring Antonio Nusa for some time, making it surprising that they did not move for the winger before the last transfer window closed. The Gunners are believed to have tracked him even before the last World Cup, as several Premier League clubs continue to look for wide players who can strengthen their squads.
Arsenal could have an advantage in their pursuit because Martin Odegaard may be able to help convince his compatriot to join the club. However, that connection does not guarantee the Gunners will win the race, particularly as other teams are now entering the picture.
Aston Villa join the race for Nusa
According to Football Insider, Aston Villa have emerged as another club interested in signing the RB Leipzig winger. The report says Villa are keen to beat Arsenal to his signature during the current transfer window as they look to continue progressing under their manager.
Nusa has attracted attention from clubs seeking a dynamic attacking player, and a move to England could offer him a new challenge. Villa may represent an appealing option, given their ambition and their participation in the Champions League.
The competition for his signature could force Arsenal to make a decision sooner rather than later. If the Gunners genuinely want to bring Nusa to the Emirates, they may need to turn their interest into a concrete approach before another club makes progress.

Arsenal risk missing another target
Villa could offer Nusa an environment in which to develop, with a manager known for improving players. Their European ambitions could also make the club an attractive destination for a young winger looking to take the next step in his career.
Arsenal, meanwhile, must decide whether to pursue the player or focus on other options. Their reported interest has lasted for some time, but continued monitoring alone will not secure a deal if a rival moves more decisively.
If Villa succeed in signing Nusa and he develops into an effective Premier League player, Arsenal could be left wondering whether they missed an opportunity. For now, however, the winger’s next destination remains uncertain, with both clubs reportedly interested in his services.
