Arsenal legend Ian Wright has made his prediction for the Gunners’ Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest on the road on Sunday.
The Gunners have won back-to-back games in all competitions since the international break, and will be eyeing another three points against the Tricky Trees.
Arsenal have a wretched record at City Ground with one win in the last six meetings, but Wright believes the Gunners will secure a comfortable victory.
Speaking on the Stick to Football podcast today, Wright predicted Arsenal would win 3-1.
He simply said: “I will go 3-1 Arsenal.”
Manchester United legend Gary Neville disagreed slightly on the scoreline and said the Gunners could secure a slender 1-0 away victory instead.
Neville replied: “I don’t think it will be that easy for Arsenal. Tough day for you, usually. 1-0 to Arsenal.”
Arsenal have played out goalless draws in their last two trips to City Ground. They will aim for a win this time to avoid losing further ground at the top of the standings.
The Gunners are presently three points behind league leaders Manchester City, who have made the perfect start with six wins from their opening six top-flight matches.
The Cityzens could go six points ahead before the Gunners face Forest. Man City host newly-promoted Ipswich Town at home on Saturday, which they should comfortably win.
Hence, the pressure could be on Arsenal to respond against the Tricky Trees. The Gunners need a quick start with a goal on Sunday or Forest could make things tougher.
Manager Mikel Arteta is widely expected to make five changes to the starting line-up from the midweek 3-0 Champions League victory over Lille at the Emirates Stadium.
Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz should all return in the final third after cameo roles on Tuesday. Ben White and Riccardo Calafiori are also poised to start.
