The Golden State Warriors will cautiously manage the workload and appearances of Stephen Curry for the 2026-27 NBA season.
Steve Kerr has already alerted fans who hope to see Curry in action, as the Warriors intend to give their superstar plenty of rest on several occasions throughout the upcoming campaign.
"We'll finish off the preseason schedule tomorrow, and then we've got three days of practice. And a day off. There will be those discussions during that time, where we'll start trying to map out week-by-week what's what. But, to be really frank, every year we run into this where we have a bunch of games stacked together, back-to-backs, we have fans who buy tickets expecting to see Steph," Kerr told reporters Thursday, per Danny Emerman of The San Francisco Standard.
" ... People expecting to see vets. And then we have a back-to-back, and then we don't play them. I would just come out and tell the fans out there to be mindful when you're buying the tickets of the schedule. Take a look. Because we've got not just Steph, but we've got multiple vets who we are going to try to manage. Because it's the only way we can do this."
Warriors to properly load manage Steph Curry
Stephen Curry will enter his 18th campaign in the NBA this upcoming 2026-27 season.
The Warriors star endured an injury-riddled campaign last year along with several other Golden State players, suiting up for just 43 games as he had to deal with "runner's knee" issues.
The Warriors' plan to manage Curry is simply a no-brainer approach out of the team's overall health status. Jimmy Butler (ACL) and Moses Moody (knee) will play at some point of the season, while Kristaps Porzingis remains out indefinitely with his undisclosed illness.
The Warriors will open their season Oct. 21 against the LA Lakers.
