WWE Money in the Bank 2026 is in the books, and now all we have is the fallout from the massive event in New Orleans, Louisiana. We stay on the West Coast as WWE SmackDown tonight will be visiting the home of the Sacramento Kings, as we have another explosive edition of the Blue brand.
There’s a lot in store, so how about we tell you about WWE SmackDown tonight. Let’s run it down.

WWE SmackDown Rundown (10/16/26) – What to Expect:
‘Tis the first Friday after a chaotic WWE Money in the Bank 2026. With only a little under a month left until the big PLE, expect WWE to amp up the pressure on the road to WWE Crown Jewel and even WWE Survivor Series: WarGames 2026. For now, we deal with the consequences from last Saturday night, but one of the biggest agendas this Friday night will be between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton.
SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis has a lot to deal with this Friday, as the tensions between Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes have reached an all-time high. Orton has Rhodes in his rearview mirror after WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event. But like a predator, Cody keeps on coming and looking to exact his revenge, and he promised last week on SmackDown that he won’t stop until he gets what he wants.
We all knew Cody won’t go out quietly, and on the Blue Brand tonight, we expect Rhodes to make a statement. Otherwise, it’ll just be an RKO from the “Viper” if QB1 doesn’t have anything up his sleeve.

Friday night, we will see two batches of friends finally duel as Nikki Bella and Paige, as well as Damian Priest and R-Truth, battle it out. The situation is eerily the same for both matches: a championship loss leads to one thinking they’re better than the other, and all hell breaks loose.
For both matches, there will be two different outcomes, one good and one not so good. Paige is more than fired up to get her revenge against Nikki, and I think we’ll see the Paige of old, the woman who beat AJ Lee on her first night on WWE Monday Night Raw to become a champion. R-Truth won’t have the same luxury; we’re afraid. Damian Priest has gone down this road before, but it seems like he’s way sharper now than ever before.

Truth better bring out Ron Killings because the “Archer of Infamy” has more than enough firepower to turn this match into a massacre.
Elsewhere on the show, we expect the #AndNEW Ms. Money in the Bank Tiffany Stratton to celebrate with her bestie WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green, as well as Undisputed WWE Champion Sami Zayn, rubbing it in the noses of Kevin Owens and CM Punk, after both left New Orleans without the Men’s Money in the Bank briefcase.
That’s all for WWE SmackDown tonight! We’ll see you all LIVE at Sac-Town!
