Domantas Sabonis can only admit that he's been surprised by the rumors and speculation around him and the Sacramento Kings.
In a sit-down interview with NBC Sports Sacramento, the Lithuanian star center opened up about being tagged in Kings trade rumors since the NBA offseason.
"I guess the injury helped because I was just focused on the injury, you know, and just ignoring all that," Sabonis responded when asked about how he handled the trade murmurs mentally. "And I have great agents, you know, Scott [Perry] has been open with me, so I mean, I know everything that's going on.
"I see all the stuff. I'm shocked that people write all this stuff and have zero clue what's actually going on. But I get it. It's their job, and I'm happy to have a great relationship with Scott, that everything is clear.”

Domantas Sabonis subjected to multiple trade rumors with Kings
Domantas Sabonis' name has been thrown around the league's rumor mill throughout the previous offseason.
Sabonis is reportedly seeking a new potential max contract with the Sacramento Kings. And amid the franchise's hesitancy to negotiate one, speculations emerged that his representation change is a clear sign of his intent to seek other destinations.
The Lithuanian big man is signed to a five-year, $216.6 million contract with the Kings. He is currently extension-eligible, with two years and approximately $94 million remaining on his current deal through the 2027-28 season.
Sabonis was prominently linked to the Detroit Pistons' contract drama with Jalen Duren, but the East contender has not shown interest in the All-Star as they eventually reached a new deal with Duren.
While Sabonis seems fully committed to pushing through with Sacramento for the upcoming NBA season, he is still expected to generate plenty of noise due to the Kings' rebuild situation and his contract uncertainty.
He has a lot to prove in 2026-27 after a torn meniscus injury limited him to 19 games last year.
