Despite Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets saying many times now that he's interested in signing an extension with the organization, many still suggest he could end up with a different team.

Until Jokic puts pen to paper on an extension, this feels like a moot point as of now. It remains uncertain what will happen until things get done, but at no point in his career has he seemed like someone who would be dishonest.

Ultimately, Jokic has proven he's willing to do what's needed to stay in Denver, and if the Nuggets have the right offer on the table to keep him, that's exactly what will happen, if things go as planned.

However, one insider once again suggested that until he signs that five-year deal worth around $360 million, Denver is dealing with some paranoia.

“While the best Nugget ever has insisted that he wants to stay in Denver and sign a massive five-year deal worth a projected $360 million, there is justifiable paranoia in the Mile High City that the shortcomings of the rest of the roster may cause his eye to wander,” John Hollinger reported.

Jokic, a three-time Most Valuable Player Award winner, 2023 NBA champion, nine-time All-Star, and more, is undoubtedly one of the two best players in the NBA. There's a strong argument that he's the best in basketball, though that's ultimately an opinion.
