The Karl-Anthony Towns situation with the New York Knicks doesn't seem likely to improve anytime soon.

It's uncertain why the Knicks are taking this approach, but it's something Leon Rose and James Dolan ultimately have to figure out.

This seems to be more of a Dolan problem than Rose, as Dolan is the one who signs the checks at the end of the day, but there's also an argument to be made that Rose could go in and tell him that he needs to stop messing around and give Towns the money that he needs to ensure his team still has a chance to win a championship after doing so a year ago.

As for how the Knicks might approach some of these things over the next couple of months, it almost sounds crazy to say that a Towns trade is possible. However, the Knicks hold the keys in that scenario, so if they believe that it's best to move on from him, anything is possible.

Recently, in its search for potential landing spots, the New York Post suggested the Brooklyn Nets, Chicago Bulls, and others as possible destinations.

“Only a few possible suitors stand out to me right now in terms of cap space teams and fit. Chicago and the Clippers have the cleanest path. The Nets can get there with the money, but that’s not a good fit. Golden State and Dallas could get around [$50 million] in space with more tinkering,” Stefan Bondy wrote.

It's not impossible for the Nets and Knicks to make a trade, considering we just saw one about two seasons ago now with Mikal Bridges and a slew of draft prospects, so this one would feel a bit different.

It's also understandable that Towns might not want to play in Brooklyn, even being someone who grew up in New Jersey and obviously loving New York City.

Playing for the Nets and Knicks are two completely different things, something Towns would ultimately have to live with if that's what ends up happening.
