Leeds United have made a solid start to the Premier League season and are widely tipped to finish in the top half.

However, their performance has turned heads, and some of their best-performing players are attracting interest from bigger clubs with deeper pockets.

While Leeds are almost certain to keep their best players in January, there is real worry that one or two of their top stars could join more established teams in the Premier League or Europe next summer.

Leeds have been warned that one of their best players could be tempted if a club comes calling in the summer of 2027.

The Whites have been told a top player could leave

Tarik Muharemovic has emerged as a defensive star in the Premier League within months of joining Leeds, and Bayern Munich have identified him as their top target for next summer.

However, according to Football Insider, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are also keeping tabs on him with a view to a move next summer.

Former Premier League scout Mick Brown has said it wouldn’t be a surprise if Muharemovic feels tempted if the big clubs want him next year.

He warned Leeds that if they fail to qualify for Europe, the defender will likely consider leaving Elland Road.

“Any player would be tempted by offers if the right teams came along; it’s as simple as that”, Brown told Football Insider.

“Muharemovic is no different, because he’s playing well for Leeds in the Premier League and attracting suitors, but he could be offered the chance to make a step up.

“When you look at which clubs need to sign a centre-back, you’re looking at Liverpool, Manchester United, maybe Arsenal as well, and those clubs are bound to be of interest to him.

“It’s not something I would expect to see in January; Leeds are pretty clearly going to be reluctant to let him go because he’s such an important part of what they’re trying to do.

“But if we get to the end of the season and they fall short of their ambitions of qualifying for Europe, those interested clubs may well be ready to tempt him away.”

The Muharemovic decision will show how ambitious Leeds truly want to be

If Leeds United want to show they are serious about progressing, keeping Tarik Muharemovic next summer would be a good place to start. The club cannot keep talking about building for the future while selling promising players as soon as their value rises.

Leeds need to develop a squad that can progress in the Premier League year after year, and that means keeping their best young talent rather than constantly rebuilding. Muharemovic could become a key part of their defence, but only if the club sees him as more than a potential transfer fee.

Financial considerations will always matter, but ambition has to mean something. Leeds should look to strengthen around players like Muharemovic, not plan for their departure. Keeping him would send a clear message that the club want to move forward.
