Arsenal did everything they could to sign Vinicius Junior during the summer transfer window, and for a time, it appeared they might secure his signature. However, the Brazilian eventually chose to extend his contract with Real Madrid, leaving the Gunners to focus on other transfer targets.
Vinicius remains one of the Spanish club’s leading players and now has a contract running until 2032. Although the extension was positive news for his current employers, Arsenal have not completely abandoned their interest and would still welcome an opportunity to bring him to the Emirates.
Arsenal continue to monitor Vinicius
The Gunners regard Vinicius as one of the best attackers in world football and would love to add him to their squad if circumstances allow. While their summer pursuit did not produce a deal, they remain interested in the possibility of signing him in the coming months.
According to Talk Sport, a source believes Vinicius’ poor form since the beginning of the season could make him available for sale. The report also suggests that Jose Mourinho could lose his job soon, potentially creating further uncertainty around the club’s plans.
The Brazilian has had to settle for appearances from the bench in recent matches, while the club is prepared to invest in other attacking options. Yan Diomande, who was signed for a significant fee, is among the players mentioned in connection with those plans.

Could Arsenal return in 2027?
These developments could encourage Arsenal to reconsider their pursuit of Vinicius. The Gunners may make another attempt to sign him at the beginning of 2027 or during the summer transfer window of that year.
However, his contract extension means any potential move would depend on the Spanish club’s willingness to negotiate and the financial terms involved. Arsenal would also need to convince Vinicius that a move to north London is the right step for his career.
For now, the Brazilian remains under contract with Los Blancos, and a transfer is far from certain. Nevertheless, Arsenal are reportedly keeping the possibility open as they assess their attacking options and monitor developments ahead of future transfer windows.
