Ligue 1 Predictions, Round 7
GFFN editor-in-chief Luke Entwistle, and sub-editor Bastien Cheval face off in our Ligue 1 predictions competition, which returns for the 2026/27 campaign. This season, GFFN will also be hosting guests. It’s three points for a correct score, two points for a correct score difference, and one point for a correct result. Who will come out on top at the end of the season?

Game of the week: RC Strasbourg Alsace v Paris Saint-Germain, Saturday 16:15 (UK)
Paris Saint-Germain put in a breathtaking display against Manchester City in midweek. That result would have likely taken a lot out of Luis Enrique’s side both mentally and physically. The PSG manager can, at least, rotate his whole forward line, should he choose, and start a fresh Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in Alsace on Saturday.
Ordinarily, this should represent an opportunity for RC Strasbourg Alsace. They are fresh due to their failure to qualify for any form of European football, but their form is concerning. There didn’t look to be a plan last weekend in their defeat to OGC Nice. A lot of creativity is a major issue and there is no obvious solution to it at the moment. Pressure is not yet on Hugo Oliveira and it is not the result against PSG, even if it is a defeat, that will change that, but his side desperately need to show signs of progression. Le Racing are at least more defensively solid than they were in pre-season (that’s not too hard), but I’d be surprised if they got on the scoresheet themselves against the reigning champions.
