Everton welcome Chelsea to Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday, October 17, in a mouthwatering encounter that ranks among the best of Premier League matchweek seven. Both are in fine form and currently level on 10 points after six games.
The lunchtime kick-off will get underway at 12:30pm BST (11.30am GMT) in Liverpool – also 12:30pm in Lagos, Nigeria. In the United States, it will take place at 7:30am ET.
In the UK, the encounter will be broadcast live on TNT Sports, it has been confirmed. It is the first of two games to be shown by the channel in October, with the second encounter at Stamford Bridge against Manchester United also on the schedule for TNT.
Meanwhile, in the US, the contest will be aired on the USA Network and Universo, reports DAZN, while in Canada it will be available on Fubo Sports. In India, JioHotstar and the Star Sports Network will show the game, with coverage provided by SuperSport in Nigeria.
The fixture comes as Chelsea are buoyed by a 5-1 win over Bournemouth, their first league victory since beating Brighton in late August. Everton remain unbeaten this season after a 2-2 draw at Hull City, which left Moyes feeling they should have won.
A Win With a Clean Sheet Will Come – Xabi Alonso
Alonso is confident that a long-awaited clean sheet for Chelsea in the Premier League is on the horizon, despite the Blues’ 5-1 win over Bournemouth to extend their sequence of games without one to 23.
Speaking to BBC Match of the Day after the victory, the Spaniard believed his players had come close to recording one in the game against the Cherries and claimed it would soon arrive. The run has seen the Blues concede in 22 consecutive league games since the end of January. It is only the second-longest sequence in the history of the club.
It stretches back to three managers, including Liam Rosenior and interim boss Calum McFarlane, who have been replaced or departed since Alonso arrived in West London in the summer.
Everton have only managed to score eight league goals this season. So it could be the perfect opportunity for them to hand the Blues their first clean sheet of the campaign. However, Thierno Barry has netted in each of his last two league games, and he will fancy his chances of troubling Alonso’s defenders.
