Chelsea take on Everton in tomorrow’s early kick off, and we’re all hoping to see a continuation of the early goals that have defined our season so far.
Scoring early has set up almost every match we’ve played perfectly for us, and things would be looking very different without those goals. Joao Pedro has been a huge part of that, scoring some and assisting others, and Matt Law’s piece for the Daily Telegraph today is all about how well the striker has done.

JP is now wearing number 9, and playing like the best number 9 in the world. Law’s piece contains some interesting information about how the striker ended up with the number 20 shirt last season.
Liam Delap signed earlier in the summer and claimed the number 9 – we all know how that worked out. JP then wanted the number 11, to evoke Didier Drogba, but another recent arrival, Jamie Gittens, had bagged it.
That sent the former Brighton man to his third choice, number 20. Why did he pick that? According to Law, who cites “sources”, it was because “Cole Palmer had done well and scored goals in that shirt”, before the England star then switched to 10.
