Chelsea Team News
After having a lengthy injury list before the international break, things have looked much better for Xabi Alonso since the return to domestic play. His injury list is now down to just three people with Emmanuel Emegha still out and yet to feature this season.
Jamie Gittens was a casaulty of the international window and will remain sidelined. He has been joined by Reece James who it was announced has undergone knee surgery and will be missing for the foreseeable future.
Other than that, the squad should be fully fit as they have had a week off since the 5-1 win over Bournemouth and will be raring to go.
Everton Team News
There are two late decisions facing David Moyes, both impacting his back line. Vitalii Mykolenko returned early from Ukrainian duties due to an injury. The previous fixture was a bit too soon for him but this could be the perfect gameweek for his return.
The other doubt is on starting centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite. The back line could find itself stretched thin if both miss out as they are already stretched a bit thin, having a centre-back start at full-back against Hull. Two absentees for this one could see them forced to play someone like James Garner in the back line.
Chelsea Predicted Lineup
The starting eleven usually picks itself but there might be some thought given to just who they’re playing. The Toffees are a rather tough outfit with physicality on their side, Alonso might go a bit taller or more physical over more proven options, particularly at the back to deal with a direct threat.

The Last Word on Chelsea vs Everton
This one on paper is an easy win for Chelsea, but the reality is they have struggled a lot against Everton, especially away from home. Moyes’ side have started strong and have all the tools to harm their opposition, particularly on set pieces or direct transitions. This could go either way but don’t be surprised if Alonso leaves Merseyside without any points.
