He may not be the most spectacular of Paris Saint-Germain’s players, but Warren Zaïre-Emery (20) remains nonetheless one of the club’s most reliable assets.
Starting in place of João Neves (22) at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday, the Frenchman once again delivered a top-class performance in _Les Rouge et Bleu_ midfield. This was, of course, not lost on his manager, Luis Enrique, who, on the eve of PSG’s trip to Strasbourg, was full of praise for his young protégé.
_“He’s an undisputed first-team regular, a key player,”_ the Catalan manager stated. _“The problem is that I can only field eleven players in every match. I have to make choices. Warren has been a regular starter ever since we arrived.”_
Having made 161 appearances (124 as a starter) under Enrique since the latter took charge of the Parisian side in July 2023, Zaïre-Emery has established himself as one of the key players in the Parisian club’s squad. And this is despite his manager’s decision – for which the latter had, incidentally, apologised – not to start him against Arsenal in the last Champions League final.
