Jalen Duren knows he'll have eyes on him in 2026.

The Pistons big put forth the best season of his career in 2025-26, landing a spot on the All-NBA third team after averaging 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game.

All of that goodwill seemed to vanish in the postseason, though. Duren saw his averages crash precipitously as Detroit fell in the second round.

Duren and the Pistons hammered out an extension on the eve of the deadline, agreeing to terms on a four-year, $200 million pact. With the ink still drying on his latest deal, Duren already has sights on adding some new wrinkles to his much-discussed game.

Here's what you need to know.

While speaking with reporters after signing his extension, Duren vowed to improve following a difficult spell in last season's playoffs. On Friday, he highlighted one part of his game that he has worked tirelessly on during the offseason: his three-point shooting.

Duren said he plans on launching more triples than ever before in 2026-27.

"Hell yeah, I mean, it's time," Duren said. "Just putting in the work, bro. Getting up shots all summer, working on my gam all summer, trying to become a better player. I know the coaching staff believes in me."

The 22-year-old has yet to make a three-pointer in his NBA career. He's only attempted six triples across 276 games — all of which came in his opening two seasons. Duren hasn't shown much of a desire to attempt jump shots, attempting just 305 jumpers in his career, good for an average of about 1.1 per game. He did sink 10 of 20 shots from 16 feet to the three-point arc last year, per Basketball Reference.

Ultimately, Duren's calling card will be his defense and rebounding. However, if he can find his rhythm from deep — even on an occasional level — it could open up new possibilities for J.B. Bickerstaff's side.

Based on his performances during preseason, the Memphis product appears committed to the task.
