Phoenix Suns head coach Jordan Ott is already gaining respect as one of the better coaches in the NBA.

The NBA GM survey is going on its 25th season, and it asks all 30 NBA general managers 48 questions about their opinions on the best teams, players, coaches and offseason acquisitions.

Ott was the only member of the Suns to make the list, earning honorable mentions in the categories “Which head coach runs the best offense?” and “Which head coach has the best defensive schemes?”

In his first season as a head coach, he led the Suns to 45 wins and a playoff berth after they were projected to be towards the bottom of the Western Conference last offseason.

The Suns ranked 16th in the league in offense and 10th on defense.

It’s noteworthy that this is the second season in a row that Suns star Devin Booker hasn’t been mentioned on the top shooting guards list.

Before the last two seasons, Booker had been on the list since 2020-21.

The four shooting guards who received votes this season were Anthony Edwards (73% of votes), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (13%), Luka Doncic (10%) and Donovan Mitchell (3%).

“It’s noteworthy that this is the second season in a row that Suns star Devin Booker hasn’t been mentioned on the top shooting guards list.”

Yea cause either he’s been forcing the team to play him as a PG, or Ott and Co are imposing it!

In any case, we NEED a real PG! A true Floor General! Spurs traded for one and landed in the finals the next year.. Knicks got one and won the Finals! Look around the league, the best teams have legit Points! This is not a coincidence!

This use “whoever” thing has been exposed and thankfully most teams are ditching it! Except Suns LOL

The PG position is so difficult to master! Which is why the Chris Paul’s are hard to find!

This idea that anyone can play it cause they can dribble, really is such an insult! And I’m surprised someone like Ott who appears quite intelligent, is approving of this!
