Julian Strawther sustains left knee sprain, out 6 weeks

Julian Strawther sustained his left knee sprain during the third period in the Denver Nuggets' 122-110 preseason road loss against the LA Clippers last Wednesday.

As he started dribbling on his left, Strawther's left leg suddenly twisted awkwardly. He fell and remained on the ground for a couple of minutes before he was escorted to the locker room.

It was announced that Strawther would undergo an MRI, and the results subsequently showed he sustained a knee sprain.

Strawther is entering his fourth season and the final year of his rookie deal with the Nuggets. He averaged 7.2 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 15.1 minutes per game across 57 appearances for Denver last 2025-26.

DeMar DeRozan, Tyus Jones, Cam Whitmore, and Alpha Diallo are all expected to gain more minutes off the bench with Strawther out for at least six weeks.
