Following their viral pregame snub, Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum reportedly have yet to interact since their split this past offseason.
On NBA Today, Malika Andrews recounted asking Brown during the Philadelphia 76ers media day if he had already talked to Tatum since his Boston Celtics exit.
According to the ESPN host, Brown simply offered a cryptic response.
"I was in Philadelphia for media day. I asked Jaylen Brown whether or not he'd spoken to Jayson Tatum since the exit, and he was a little bit murky, but the essence was: 'No, not really. I went my way and he went his way.'"
Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum haven't spoken yet since blockbuster trade?
The Boston Celtics executed a massive blockbuster trade last June that sent Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Paul George and a package of multiple draft picks.
The deal caught everyone in the NBA completely shocked, as Brown was off to his best season where he averaged 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 5.1 assists across 71 games to lead the Celtics' 56-win campaign while Tatum was still recovering from his Achilles tear injury.
Both Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown notably went viral last week during the 76ers' preseason visit to Boston. A video captured the former Celtics teammates standing just feet apart during pregame warmups, seemingly ignoring each other without speaking, exchanging a nod, or making eye contact.
Adding more to the speculation, Brown, who took the rest for that game, did not sit on the 76ers' bench and instead watched the game from the locker room.
The first potential regular-season meeting between Tatum and Brown will take place on Nov. 10, when the Celtics travel to Philadelphia to play the 76ers.
