For their final game before they head to the upcoming NBA season, the Los Angeles Lakers are rolling with their possible official starting five.
In his pregame ahead of LA's Friday matchup against the Denver Nuggets, JJ Redick has confirmed that Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves, Matisse Thybulle, Ziaire Williams, and Walker Kessler will compose the Lakers' starting five.
Lakers to roll with Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves, and Walker Kessler for the 1st time
Friday's preseason finale against the Denver Nuggets would mark the first time that the Los Angeles Lakers will have the trio of Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves, and Walker Kessler in the starting lineup.
Kessler had to miss the Lakers' first three preseason games after sustaining a finger injury during a team practice. The big man finally recovered and has rejoined the team since their previous loss against the Golden State Warriors in Las Vegas.
With Matisse Thybulle and Ziaire Williams filling the wing spots and taking the defensive assignments, this serves as the best possible starting five the Lakers can present with Doncic, Reaves, and Kessler leading the way.
Facing the Nuggets with Nikola Jokic, this would be a huge test for the Lakers' newest group heading into next week's season opener against the Golden State Warriors.
