LeBron James had a simple and straightforward statement when asked about his helicopter commute with the Philadelphia 76ers.
Following the 76ers' 125-120 preseason loss to the Boston Celtics, James was asked about the buzz surrounding his helicopter rides and travel arrangements. As such, the superstar offered a brief response, making his feelings clear on the growing discussion.
"I’ve done it before," James told reporters, "It’s just another way of transportation.
"That's all."
LeBron James helicopter commute continues to draw chatter
Upon joining the Philadelphia 76ers this past offseason, James has been using a Fanatics-branded helicopter as a way to commute home to Manhattan, New York.
James rides the helicopter after Sixers home games or team practices in Camden, New Jersey, where he reportedly has unlimited use of it due to his long-term partnership with Fanatics.
The arrangement has already drawn significant attention across the league. Interestingly, award-winning investigative journalist Pablo Torre, who first exposed the LA Clippers' salary-cap circumventing schemes for Kawhi Leonard, recently revealed that rival NBA owners have reached out to him to look into James' helicopter perks.
James notably joined the Sixers in a team-friendly deal, landing a two-year $7.9 million contract.
