**_PARIS_**: Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique gambled with a much-changed starting lineup and was almost made to pay as the European and French champions rode their luck to claim a 3-1 victory at RC Strasbourg.
Luis Enrique made eight changes to his team from the midweek Champions League win at Manchester City with only Safonov, Warren Zaïre-Emery and Maghnes Akliouche selected again.
Safonov was superb as he thwarted Strasbourg several times before PSG earned the points late on.
They finished the game with 10 men as defender Nuno Mendes was withdrawn with no substitutions remaining.
Gio Reyna put the home side ahead in the first half and they might have added to that tally but for the brilliance of PSG goalkeeper Matvey Safonov.
Ousmane Dembele missed a penalty for the visitors in the second half but minutes later they were level through Ilya Zabarnyi before Dembele scored five minutes from the end of the 90 and Desire Doue netted a third in added time.
The win moves PSG top of the table on goals scored with 14 points from seven games, ahead of Lille, who drew 1-1 at home to Brest, and AS Monaco before they visit Lorient on Sunday.

Bayern Munich thrashed RB Leipzig 6-1 in the Bundesliga to vindicate coach Vincent Kompany’s prediction before the game that his team were close to hitting top form.
Kompany had said on Friday his team’s consecutive draws in the league and Europe were not representative of Bayern’s current level and his players proved him right, delivering a statement win, with Luis Diaz hitting a hat-trick, to silence critics.
The Bavarians had drawn 2-2 against Augsburg while also conceding the fastest goal in Bundesliga history last week before a shock 3-3 draw at outsiders Viking in the Champions League on Tuesday.
They had to come from behind in both those matches but against Leipzig it was clear from the start who was boss.
Bayern opened their account with Diaz in the 12th minute before the Colombian set up Aleksandar Pavlovic for their second 14 minutes later. Michael Olise, who had terrorised the Leipzig defence in the first half, capped his outstanding performance with a goal in the 34th.
Diaz completed his hat-trick with goals either side of Harry Kane’s tap-in on the England captain’s 100th Bundesliga appearance. Leipzig scored a late consolation goal in stoppage time.
The result lifted the champions into top spot on 14 points, ahead of Borussia Dortmund on goal difference, after the Ruhr valley club slipped up with a goalless draw at Union Berlin.

Internazionale came from a goal down to beat Bologna 3-1 in Serie A, maintaining their unbeaten start and going two points clear at the top.
Inter, who suffered a shock home loss to Club Brugge in the Champions League on Tuesday, went behind in the 10th minute to a goal from Tommaso Pobega but equalised through Marcus Thuram against the run of play just before halftime.
Second-half goals from Carlos Augusto and Ange-Yoan Bonny helped secure the win that lifted them to 19 points with their sixth victory in seven league matches.
Cristian Chivu’s side are two points ahead of AS Roma, 2-0 winners over visitors Genoa thanks to second-half goals from Santiago Castro and Emanuele Lulli.
