All the talk has been about Chelsea’s front three of Joao Pedro, Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers, while Pedro Neto has almost been forgotten about. The winger has never been known for his end product, and new manager Xabi Alonso has been playing deeper as a wing-back.
However, Neto has now scored three goals in seven Premier League matches in the 2026/27 season, just two fewer than his best tally. The former Wolves star has thanked Portugal head coach Jorge Jesus, who has encouraged him to place his shots rather than go for power.
He told TNT Sports: “This comes a little bit from the new coach of the national team, who says when you are near the area, you need to pass to the goal, so really happy with that.”

Meanwhile, Neto reflected on an “important” three points at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. Chelsea have moved three points clear of fifth-placed Everton, with 13 points from seven matches.
“It’s really important. We know it’s tough to play away; even at home, there are no easy games,” the goalscorer added. “We came here with personality, with good intentions to win the match, and we’re really happy with the result.”
