Andoni Iraola expects Dominik Szoboszlai and Jeremie Frimpong to be absent for "some time" after they both limped off during the Reds' win against Brentford on Saturday.
Liverpool brought Szoboszlai back into the starting XI after he had missed matches with Manchester City and LASK, but it proved to be too soon. The Hungarian was replaced by Trey Nyoni around a third of the way through at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Frimpong, meanwhile, was introduced at half-time as Liverpool looked to press ahead with its man advantage. Victor Munoz and Alexander Isak scored to give the Reds the points, but Frimpong had already gone off at that stage.
Just a couple of minutes after coming on, Frimpong went down with a hamstring injury and had to be replaced by Rio Ngumoha, who was very impressive down the right flank.
"Dominik felt the same injuries, not a new injury, so (he was) probably not healed enough," Iraola outlined.
"Jeremie's injury is new; he was cramping. I thought playing against 10 he’d give us more heading forward. But it will mean we will lose Dom and Jeremie for some time."

But which games could they miss? Liverpool has Villarreal in the Champions League next, and then there is a visit from Brighton to Anfield in the Premier League next weekend.
After that is a Carabao Cup tie with Chelsea and a league fixture with Arsenal, before a European game at Fenerbahce and then a trip to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace.
Those are the fixtures before the international break. Liverpool returns after that with a home game against Manchester United, but that is more than a month away.
The hope will be back Szoboszlai and Frimpong are available again before then. Iraola may offer a timeline during his pre-Villarreal press conference on Monday.

Hugo Ekitike and Conor Bradley are also sidelined at the moment, but they won't be back for some time yet. Giovanni Leoni could return to training during the November internationals.
"Definitely, we got a good battle today," Iraola said after beating Brentford.
"I think they are a very important three points for us because I think it's very expensive to win here. I think Brentford are a very good team, especially at home, and to finish with three points here is very valuable."
Liverpool.com says: Losing Szoboszlai, in particular, is a huge blow for Iraola. He doesn't have loads of midfield options as it is, so Nyoni will need to be on standby for plenty more minutes.
