Mylo Bernard only officially completed his move to Arsenal last month but the striker has already gone some way towards endearing himself to the club’s supporters.
Yesterday, Bernard scored a brace, including a winner in the seventh minute of stoppage time, as Arsenal U18s secured a 2-1 win at home to their Tottenham counterparts.
Arsenal’s victory was made all the more impressive by the fact that they ended the game with an outfield player in goal in Emerson Nwaneri after Jack Talbot suffered concussion and his replacement Max Lo Presti later went off injured.
The young Gunners, coached by Josh Smith, have now won four league games in a row after inflicting Tottenham’s first league defeat of the campaign.
This victory sees Arsenal move up to fourth place in the table, where they are five points adrift of leaders Chelsea, who have a game in hand.
Arsenal have had greater defensive solidity in recent games, as shown by the fact that they have only conceded seven times in the league this season, while some of their creative and attacking play has also been of a high standard.
There is more to come too with another new attacking signing, Vincent Joseph, looking to establish himself in the side following his move from Liverpool.
