Rio Ngumoha has provided an update on his Liverpool contract situation, with the teenager leaving negotiations in the hands of his representatives as he continues to impress at Anfield.

The 18-year-old has enjoyed a promising start to the season under Andoni Iraola, earning opportunities in the first team and showing why Liverpool are so keen to secure his long-term future.

As quoted by Lewis Steele on X, Ngumoha said: “It’s all with my agent now. I think it is all going well. I am not too sure. I just let the football do the talking, I enjoy playing and all of that is in the back of my mind. I just play for play for #LFC and hopefully I can carry on doing well.”

The youngster’s comments will come as a positive sign for Liverpool supporters, with the club keen to keep hold of one of English football’s most exciting young talents.

Ngumoha has already made seven appearances in all competitions this season, including a start in Liverpool’s opening Premier League fixture against Newcastle United.

He also impressed during Liverpool’s 6-3 Champions League victory over LASK, continuing to show his ability to trouble defenders with his pace and direct approach.

The winger has quickly become an exciting option for Iraola, who is keen to give young players opportunities to prove themselves in the first team.

According to The Times’ Paul Joyce, Liverpool remain in talks with Rio Ngumoha over a new five-year contract after he turned 18 in August.

The youngster signed his first professional deal with the club in September 2025, but his rapid progress has made an improved agreement a priority for the Reds.

Liverpool are confident of reaching an agreement, despite reported interest from Arsenal and Bayern Munich.

Ngumoha joined Liverpool from Chelsea in 2024, with the opportunity to break into the first team playing a major role in his decision.

He has already shown what he can offer, becoming Liverpool’s youngest-ever goalscorer when he struck a dramatic stoppage-time winner against Newcastle in August 2025.

There is still plenty of development ahead, but the teenager’s performances suggest he could have a big future at Anfield.

For now, Ngumoha appears happy to concentrate on his football while his representatives handle the negotiations.

Liverpool will hope that approach leads to a positive outcome, allowing one of their brightest young talents to continue his development on Merseyside.
