How Safe Is Zac Robinson?

Joe cannot hang all of the blame on Bucs quarterback Jalon Daniels.

Did he show in the second half why every team in the league, including the Bucs, passed on him multiple times in the draft? Yes. But he got no help.

His receivers dropped/missed a bunch of catchable passes. That didn’t help.

Exactly why were the Bucs unable to run the ball in the second half? It is extraordinary how poorly the Bucs’ offensive line plays in this offense. Today it was run blocking. Bucs running backs ran for 21 times for just 63 yards.

One reason the Bucs liked Daniels so much as a project — a project who is not yet polished enough — was his wheels. Why exactly didn’t Bucs offensive coordinator Zac Robinson, with a few extra days to prepare since the Bucs last played a week ago last Thursday, go back to Daniels’ college tape and try to incorporate some of his college offense at Kansas to use his skillset?

Why not run three or four options plays for Daniels since he’s so mobile?

With the exception of Tristan Wirfs, Joe doesn’t think there is one player on offense who is maxing out his skillset in Robinson’s offense. That’s directly on Robinson.

And with KitKat-eating Bucs coach Todd Bowles griping about the play-calling, could Robinson be made to walk the plank tomorrow, or maybe next week after Mayfield should start in Carolina?

Team Glazer isn’t going to remove Bowles until January. So forget that, “this Joe” believes. But if Bowles is looking for a scapegoat to maybe give him a buffer from a sure firing in January, well, Robinson, has surely earned a pink slip in Joe’s mind, scapegoat or no scapegoat.
