SAN FRANCISCO — Steph Curry went back to the locker room midway through Sunday’s open practice at Chase Center after apparently sustaining a right leg injury.
Curry had gathered the ball after dribbling during a scrimmage and begun to pump fake when his right leg appeared to buckle. No defender made contact with him.
Curry immediately toss the ball away and hobbled back to the Warriors’ bench. He briefly attempted to walk it off by the bench, but then went back into the team’s locker room as the fans went silent.
His longtime assistant coach and close friend Bruce Fraser and fellow assistant Jacob Rubin went back to the locker room shortly after, and head coach Steve Kerr followed suit a few minutes later.
The type of injury and its severity is not known at this time.
Curry, 38, missed 27 games last season with soreness in his right knee, and spent the offseason and preseason reworking his routine in order to stay healthy for the regular season.
This is a breaking story and will be updated …
