There is optimism around the Golden State Warriors despite Stephen Curry's alarming injury this weekend.
According to ESPN's Anthony Slater, team sources have indicated that Curry's right ankle tweak during the Warriors' open practice on Sunday at Chase Center is "not serious."
As such, the Warriors have officially announced that the superstar is dealing with a sprained right ankle.
Stephen Curry tweaks right ankle, injured ahead of Warriors' NBA season
Stephen Curry appeared to have slipped and tweaked his right ankle while dribbling during the Dubs' team scrimmage. He subsequently left the floor and was seen limping as he entered the locker room.
Instant anxiety has emerged across the arena regarding Curry's untimely exit, but Steve Kerr declared that the superstar is "fine" despite what happened.
It remains to be seen what Curry's status might be for the Golden State Warriors' season opener on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Curry's health will be a major element to monitor in the Bay Area after an injury-riddled 2025-26 campaign last year, where he notably missed 27 consecutive games due to "runner's knee" issues.
