Paris, France – German coach Hansi Flick, manager of Barcelona, announced the list of players called up to face Paris Saint-Germain, in the third round of the league stage of the 2026-2027 UEFA Champions League.
Barcelona will visit Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday evening at the Parc des Princes stadium, in a tough match in which the Catalan team seeks to achieve a positive result and continue its good performances since the start of the current season.
The match is of great importance to both teams, given the competition to collect points in the league stage. Barcelona also recalls its 2-1 loss to the French team at the Camp Nou stadium during the two teams’ encounter in the league stage of the previous edition of the tournament.
Barcelona’s squad saw the return of Egyptian striker Hamza Abdel Karim, after he missed the last match against Real Betis in the Spanish League, giving him a new opportunity to be with the Catalan team before the anticipated European match.
Hamza Abdelkarim played for Barcelona Athletic last Saturday and scored a goal during the 2-1 victory over Otebo in the Spanish Fourth Division.
The Egyptian player’s return to the squad comes amid Barcelona’s absences, after Flick excluded Eric Garcia, Jules Koundé and Andreas Christensen due to injury.
In light of the defensive absences, the German coach called up young player Alex Campos to strengthen the available options in the back line, with the possibility of using Dutchman Frenkie de Jong in the center of defense, to compensate for the numerical shortage before facing Paris Saint-Germain.
Barcelona will be hoping to overcome the absences and come away with a positive result from the Parc des Princes stadium, in a tough test against the team that has ambitions to compete for the Champions League title.
