Andy Diouf has become one of the most closely followed midfielders in Serie A this autumn. **Chelsea**and **Arsenal**both rate the Inter Milan star highly, as per the latest transfer news. However, Inter will demand a substantial fee before they will entertain any offers.
Why interest in Andy Diouf keeps growing
As reported by CaughtOffside, the 23-year-old has been on the radar of both Chelsea and Arsenal, according to industry sources. The competition could be fierce, because Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona are also showing interest. However, reports do not mention any formal approach so far. In other words, he has moved from a promising name to a serious target in barely a year.
Andy Diouf left Lens for Inter in August 2025 and has grown steadily since then. Zinedine Zidane gave him a France debut against Belgium, and he then played 180 minutes across the international break. That quick progress shows how fast his reputation is rising, which naturally draws attention from bigger clubs.
Such a rise explains why Premier League clubs are paying attention. English sides value adaptable players who handle different tasks well, and this midfielder has proved he can do exactly that. According to club coach Cristian Chivu, he has “a carefree attitude and personality in one-on-one situations”, and that confidence suits the demands of English football.
Andy Diouf’s stats for Inter Milan during the 2025/26 season, as per FOTMOB:
Competitions Matches Goals Chances created Duels won(%) Aerial duels won(%) Defensive contributions
Serie A 19 1 11 45% 60% 18
Coppa Italia 5 2 4 49% 50% 8
UCL 4 1 1 50% 0% 5
What Andy Diouf offers on the pitch
The midfielder can line up at full-back, wing-back or in the centre, and that range is a big part of his appeal. He has already filled several positions this season and keeps adapting well. He also drives forward with the ball and has the stamina for long matches, which helps in busy weeks. Few players of his age bring that much flexibility.
Zidane placed him at left-back against Belgium, and he settled in quickly next to Maxence Lacroix, Pierre Kalulu and Jeremy Jacquet. Afterwards he admitted,“Even at Inter, I play in a position that isn’t mine.”Still, he stressed that helping the team matters more than personal preference.
Arsenal could use that range to give Mikel Arteta more rotation options across a heavy schedule. The Blues, meanwhile, often back youthful talent that can play in several positions, so the fit looks natural. At the same time, neither side has to rebuild its squad to make room for him. Since both clubs could use depth in different areas, the interest seems genuine rather than speculative.
Will Inter sell Diouf in January?
Inter hold most of the leverage because the midfielder has a contract until June 2030. In practice, a buyer would probably have to offer between €50m and €60m for him. That is close to double his market value of around €30m, so only clubs with a sizeable budget can compete.
Timing adds another obstacle. The club also wants stability during a busy campaign, so selling now would carry more risk than reward. Teams seldom weaken their squads in winter, and the Italian side has shown no sign of letting him go. Therefore, a deal in January seems doubtful unless a rival makes a bid that Inter simply cannot ignore.
A summer move looks more realistic, especially if Andy Diouf sustains this form. By then, it may come down to which club is ready to pay the asking price. For now, football followers can expect further speculation and fresh reports as the winter window draws much closer.
