76ers sign 7-foot-6 gigantic rim finisher to potentially pair with LeBron James, Jaylen Brown image
The Philadelphia 76ers have made some big moves this offseason to set themselves up for success over the next two seasons, at least. The team is led by 41-year-old four-time NBA champion LeBron James, whom Philadelphia signed this offseason.
The 76ers also made a blockbuster trade for Jaylen Brown in a move that came as a bit of a shock. Philadelphia also added Tacko Fall, the tallest player in the NBA.
“The Philadelphia 76ers have signed Tacko Fall, Jameer Nelson Jr. and Saint Thomas, the team announced. All three players are on Exhibit 10 deals, a source told ESPN, and will be a part of Sixers training camp," ESPN's Dave McMenamin posted.
Fall will have the opportunity to play alongside a star-studded 76ers team. Philadelphia has a need for center depth after losing Ariel Hukporti for the season. Fall has already made it clear that he isn't going to let this opportunity go to waste.
“It is an opportunity of a lifetime that I shall not waste,” Fall said.
With the regular season starting Tuesday, the 76ers have been making their final roster moves. Over the weekend, Philadelphia agreed to give Fall a two-way contract for the upcoming season.
“The Philadelphia 76ers are signing 7-foot-6 center Tacko Fall to a two-way NBA contract, sources tell ESPN. Fall enters his fourth NBA season after the 76ers convert his exhibit 10 deal,” ESPN’s Shams Charania wrote.
This is a great opportunity for Fall, who may have once thought his NBA career was over. The 76ers could give him a chance to contribute, especially if an injury affects their center rotation.
With players like Tyrese Maxey, James and Brown on the roster, Fall could benefit from their ability to create scoring opportunities near the basket. Whether he earns meaningful minutes for the 76ers remains to be seen, but the opportunity is certainly there.
