Ronald Araujo has been on media duty with Liverpool ahead of a Champions League tie against Villarreal on Tuesday at Anfield.

The Barcelona loanee is enjoying life with the Premier League side following his summer move but says it’s too early to talk about the possibility of making the transfer permanent.

“It’s very early to talk about these things. I’m just trying to enjoy every day, and grow and develop every day to have that confidence,” he told a news conference.

“I am really happy to be here. My family are also happy. But it’s a bit early to be talking about these things.”

Araujo also spoke about settling into life at Liverpool and how he’s adapting to life in England.

“People here, they are more intense when you go down the street and you go to the centre of Liverpool or go to eat, but that’s lovely,” he added.

“You see how they experience football as well. I am really happy here. I’m just really hungry to go on this season and give everything. Continue to learn and grow as a player which is something I’ve always wanted to do. I’m having that game time and minutes and that’s what I want. Let’s see what happens.

“I am really grateful [to the fans]. It’s an important aspect to feel loved by the people. Sometimes you play well, sometimes you play badly, but I always try to give everything. It’s lovely as a player to be recognised in this way.”

Araujo’s contract reportedly contains a buy option set at around €55 million but there’s no indication yet of whether the Uruguay international will continue at Anfield past the end of the current campaign.
