An interesting trend is developing for Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys and it’s one that they would like to cease immediately. For the second straight week, the quarterback of America’s Team has had an eventful trip into the tunnel after a lackluster showing on a national stage.
In Week 5, following a stinker against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday Night Football, a rogue valet driver gave Prescott a piece of his mind by sharing that the performance had been embarrassing. Obviously, Prescott took issue with that feedback given the time and place. Someone was quickly dispatched to make sure such a charge did not go without confrontation.

Fast forward to last night in Green Bay. Prescott and the Cowboys offense was anemic for most of the game before showing some signs of life late. By then, though, it was too late and the Packers were able to cruise to a 23-13 win.

That set the stage for a traditional handshake and dap-up fest between the opposing quarterbacks. Jordan Love, win in tow, made his way out to the middle of the field … where he did not find Prescott because Prescott was high-tailing it in the direction of the locker room.

As with most things on the internet, there needs to be some work done here to contextualize. It is totally unclear if Love was actively searching for Prescott. Heck, it’s possible they shook hands before this footage started rolling. Most importantly, it’s not all that important if the two quarterbacks got to bro-hug it out or if they’ll have to do it at a different time.
It’s just unfortunate that this is a poetic coda on a regrettable night for a Cowboys quarterback who is seeing much-discussed Super Bowl hopes become less likely.
On a night where the Dallas defense was actually quite sound, the vaunted offense was toothless. Prescott threw two picks and didn’t appear comfortable all night. Jerry Jones must sit and watch as his team only gets further behind in the NFC East.
Not a great situation to be sure.
