It hasn't taken Paul George long to feel at home with the Boston Celtics.

In an interview with The Boston Globe's Gary Washburn, the nine-time All-Star opened up about his new team and said he'd "love to be able to call Boston home."

"This locker room, the culture here, the front office, the city, the organization, the tradition, all of that is something that I’ve never been a part of," George said. "Where everything is high quality. For me, it’s refreshing. Hopefully, I can remain healthy. I think I became a journeyman along the way. At this point, I would love to be able to call Boston home.

"I’m fully immersing myself into this organization with the guys. I’ve been more than happy. I’m ecstatic with being here, being around these guys, like they brought something else out of me that to be quite frank has been buried, and that’s just a different passion.

"There’s a love again for this game, and I just think everything is kind of just aligning at the right time for me here.”

George's comments come at an important point in his career. He turns 37 in May and is entering his 17th NBA season, making his renewed passion for the game particularly notable.

George joins the Celtics with career averages of 20.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.7 steals per game. In addition to being a nine-time All-Star, he has earned six All-NBA selections and four All-Defensive selections.

George has been one of the NBA's best two-way players for more than a decade, but injuries limited him to 78 games over the past two seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers.

The good news for the Celtics is that George said at Media Day that he feels his body is healthy again.

George will make $54.1 million this season. He has a $56.6 million player option for the 2027-28 season, making him a potential free agent in the offseason.

At least for now, George sounds like someone who has no plans to leave Boston.
