The Memphis Grizzlies are searching for a new home for one of their players ahead of Monday's 5 PM ET roster cutdown timeline.
According to NBA insiders Marc Stein and Jake Fischer, the Grizzlies are trying to trade Walter Clayton Jr. with the Sacramento Kings emerging as a potential destination.
Fischer also added that Sacramento are looking for point guard reinforcements since the season ending injury to Ben Simmons on Sunday.
Clayton Jr. was drafted with the 18th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft by the Washington Wizards. He was then traded to the Utah Jazz on draft night.
After half a season with Utah, he was moved to the Memphis Grizzlies in the Jaren Jackson Jr. trade.
In his first NBA season, he averaged 7.8 points, 2.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists, playing 20.4 minutes a night across 69 games.

Fischer also revealed that the Kings are looking into the case of Kevin Porter Jr., who they would like to acquire from the Milwaukee Bucks.
Porter Jr. played 38 games for the Bucks last season, averaging 17.4 points, 5.2 rebounds and 7.4 assists.
The Kings are looking for reinforcements after they confirmed Sunday that Ben Simmons sustained a torn right Achilles tendon.
This effectively ended what could have been a massive NBA comeback for the former All-Star heading into opening night.
