Colts get bad news on Sauce Gardner amid calf injury after brutal Titans loss image
The Indianapolis Colts might be heading towards some major changes this season. Some change has already happened, with general manager Chris Ballard getting fired Monday morning.
But he might not be the only one on the move this season. It might be a sell-off this year, even though they don't have their own first-round pick. The reason for that? The Sauce Gardner trade. That, too, has taken a bad turn, unfortunately due to an injury.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Gardner has a calf strain and is going to miss some time for the Colts. Indianapolis is going to be without their top cornerback going forward, as a challenged defense is going to be in a bit more trouble.
Sauce Gardner has a calf strain, likely to miss time for Colts
"More Colts news: Pro Bowl CB Sauce Gardner, who was unable to finish Sunday's loss to the Titans, has a mild calf strain that makes him week-to-week, sources say after the MRI," Rapoport reports.
This update for the Colts' top cornerback is a massively unfortunate one. This mild calf strain is not season-ending, and it might not be an IR stint either.
But, as Rapoport notes, Gardner is "expected to miss some time" as he recovers from this calf strain. Fortunately, it's not a lengthy injury. But the timing of the injury is really bad news for the Colts.

Coming off a loss to the Titans, who came into the matchup at 0-5, the now 2-4 Colts are tied with the Houston Texans in the AFC South and face an uphill battle to make the playoffs.
Add in that Daniel Jones hasn't looked as good as he did last season, the Colts just fired their general manager, and there's plenty of instability with this team coming off a loss to the Titans. Now, Gardner's hurt and will miss some time.
Indianapolis is heading into Week 7 against the Minnesota Vikings, who are set to be without their top cornerback, which might lead Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison to have big days against an already leaky Colts' secondary.
