Premier League officially confirm three Liverpool fixture changes in December 2026

Liverpool have been inconsistent in the Premier League so far, winning just three of their seven games under Andoni Iraola, but their victory over Brentford at the weekend was an important one.

After the game, Iraola said: “Yes, definitely we got a good battle today. I think they are a very important three points for us because I think it’s very expensive to win here. I think Brentford are a very good team, especially at home, and to finish with three points here is very valuable.”

The Reds are now fifth in the standings, six points behind Arsenal and nine behind Manchester City, who are still awaiting punishment following a guilty verdict and subsequent appeal.

Securing a Champions League spot is a must for Liverpool this season, although a title challenge should not be completely ruled out if they can find some consistency.

Liverpool could play just one game in 13 days in the build-up to Christmas. Three of Liverpool’s matches have been moved following the announcement of Premier League’s final broadcast schedule for 2026.

Their home game against Sunderland on Wednesday, December 2, will now kick off at 7:30pm on Sky Sports, while the trip to Chelsea on Saturday, December 5, will begin at 12:30pm on TNT Sports.

The home clash with Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, December 19, has also been moved to a 5:30pm kick-off on Sky Sports.

Liverpool are currently scheduled to play seven times in December, including two fixtures already rearranged around Christmas and New Year.

The meeting with Tottenham at Anfield could be the Reds’ only game in a 13-day period, with the preceding home fixture against Leeds United remaining a 3pm Saturday kick-off.

As things stand, there will be a six-day gap between the Leeds and Tottenham matches, followed by another six days before the trip to Hull City on Boxing Day.

However, that schedule could change if Liverpool progress to the fifth round of the Carabao Cup, with those ties scheduled for the week commencing December 14.

The Reds face Chelsea in the fourth round next Wednesday, and victory would add an eighth game to their December fixture list.
